Discipleship Pathway

Connect

You were never meant to walk with Christ alone.

Step 1 of 4
  1. Connect
  2. Share
  3. Minister
  4. Disciple

Connect is the first step on our pathway. It means getting into a discipleship relationship with a more mature Christian, through one on one time, a small group, or both. This is where you stop doing the Christian life by yourself and start growing alongside someone who is further down the road than you are.

Scripture shows us this is how God designed His church. The early believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to breaking bread, and to prayer (Acts 2:42-47). We are called to stir one another up to love and good works, and not to neglect meeting together (Hebrews 10:24-25).

What Connect Means

Whether you are brand new to faith, new to FBCG, or have been in church your whole life, there is someone who can walk with you and help you take your next step with Jesus. A more mature believer will read Scripture with you, pray with you, answer your questions, and encourage you as you grow. You can connect through:

One on One: Meeting regularly with a more mature Christian who invests in you personally.

Small Group: Studying God's Word, praying, and sharing life with a group of believers.

Both: Many people do one on one and a small group together, and that is the healthiest path.

What to Do Next

  1. 1Join us on Sunday. Prayer time begins at 8:50 am, Sunday School at 9:30 am, and Worship at 10:45 am.
  2. 2Tell us you want to connect. Let us know you would like to be matched with a more mature believer for one on one discipleship, or placed in a small group.
  3. 3Join the Equip class. Beginning in January, the Equip class is our on ramp for new people and also serves as our new member class.
