Disciple is the step where you begin investing in someone else. Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). Paul told Timothy to take what he had learned and entrust it to faithful people who would teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2). That is how the gospel has always spread: one life pouring into another.
What Disciple Means
Disciple making begins at conversion, but discipleship continues for the life of the believer. At FBCG, we believe discipleship happens life on life, one on one, and in small groups. A mature believer does not just keep growing. They help others grow.
Who Are Your 3?
In addition to the three people you are reaching, ask who the three people are that you are personally discipling and pouring into. This is not a program. It is a relationship where you walk with someone, open God's Word together, pray together, and help them take their next step with Jesus.
What to Do Next
- 1Pray and ask God to show you who to invest in.
- 2Start meeting regularly with one person to read Scripture, pray, and talk about life.
- 3Encourage the people you disciple to disciple others, so the work multiplies.
- 4Talk with Pastor Jason if you would like help getting started.
